  1. In PCSX2, choose Tools > Open Data Directory and open patches.
  2. Save this download there as SLUS-21847_F233A433.pnach. Portable example: <PCSX2 folder>\patches\SLUS-21847_F233A433.pnach.
  3. Right-click the game, open Properties > Patches, reload the list if needed, and enable the intended named patch sections and their required dependencies.
  4. Start the game from a fresh boot. Follow this feature's setup, controls, conflicts and recovery instructions.

Keep alternative modules separate. The ZIP is an archive of alternatives; do not enable everything together.

Setup instructions

  1. In game Properties > Patches enable Hide Training infinity symbol. Disable the other HUD visibility alternatives listed under Conflicts, then start the game fresh.
  2. Enter Training normally. The recorded test used P1 Sol against Ky, with each visibility code enabled separately.
  3. To return through startup and reenter Training, the tested P1 reset chord is physical L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Start + Select held together for 12 frames. This retains the enabled visibility code; it does not unload it.
  4. To restore the original display, shut down the emulated game, disable this patch, then start a new game session. Unticking it during a running session does not restore the instructions.

Effect

Remove the infinity symbol from the Training timer housing. Both player HUDs and the timer housing remain visible.

Test result

Original pinned PCSX2 engine, US Sol versus Ky Training: infinity glyph hidden before and after same-process reset/reentry, both player HUDs retained. Separate unpatched process restored original words and visible symbol.

  • Verified individually in US Sol-versus-Ky Training on the original pinned PCSX2 engine. Other modes, characters, regions and combinations were not tested.
  • This changes drawing only. It does not stop the timer or prevent timeout.
  • Same-process reset and Training reentry retained the effect. Restoration used a new unpatched process loading a clean main-menu checkpoint; a full BIOS cold boot was not tested.
