The first unlock codes for this disc are lee4's. A first version circulated by 2009 (reposted on GameFAQs from codemasters-project), and lee4's own post of 2014-08-23 is mirrored on GameHacking.org (game 103882, 41 entries). Several codes here perform the same writes as lee4's, and the credit for those writes is his:

  • Unlock Kliff Undersn and Unlock Justice are byte for byte his "Unlock Kliff & Justice".
  • The first two lines of Unlock all gold and black characters are byte for byte his "Enable Slash Modes including Gold and Shadow". Our code adds one line for Justice.
  • Max play time writes the same play-time field as his "Have All Characters' colors".
  • All story endings starts at the same address as his "Have All Ending & EX Ending".
2009 set: superseded. Verdict: the 2014 version is the correct one. The 2009 version is superseded. Its addresses are 8 bytes too low for this executable. They permanently set SE and VOICE volume to 1, and they leave several unlocks out.

Cheat-device master code, the same in both versions: 902D62A0 0C0B5850

SE and VOICE volume

In 2009 Voluntas reported that the unlock codes forced SE and VOICE volume to 1. The SOUND screen keeps its volumes in system data:

  • BGM volume at +0x1FC;
  • SE volume at +0x200;
  • VOICE volume at +0x204.

The 2009 Gold/Shadow code starts at +0x200 and writes 1 to every halfword. In PCSX2, from a fresh save with only that code on, the SOUND screen reads BGM 48, VOICE 1, SE 1, against BGM 48, VOICE 47, SE 40 without it. RAM confirms that the code changes nothing outside +0x200 ... +0x22F. The 2014 version starts 8 bytes later and leaves the volumes alone. The same report's missing story paths and secrets match the 2009 story and secrets codes ending 8 bytes early.
